Tamara — now available at your checkout
Let customers split their purchase into up to 4 payments, interest-free. Tamara is one of the most recognised ways to pay in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and it now sits alongside your other payment methods with no extra work at checkout.
Connect it in a minute
Go to Settings → Payments, pick Tamara, and paste the three values Tamara emails you when your account is approved — your API token, notification token and public key. We take care of the rest, including registering your store with Tamara so payments confirm themselves.
Tamara is available for regions set to Saudi Arabia or the UAE. If your region is set elsewhere, we'll tell you rather than let you configure something that can't work.
Test it before you go live
Tamara gives you one set of credentials for testing and another for real payments. You can keep both here and switch between them whenever you like — testing again later never means losing your live keys.
While you're in test mode we say so, clearly, everywhere it matters. And if Tamara is live at your checkout while still in test mode, we'll warn you properly, because in that state customers can place orders that will never be paid.
Show it before checkout
Turn on Tamara's messaging and customers see how their instalments break down right on your product and cart pages — where it changes whether they add to basket, not just how they pay at the end.
You choose when to offer it. Set a minimum or maximum order total and Tamara only appears within that range.
Payments that don't get lost
If a customer pays and then closes their browser before coming back to your store, their order still arrives. Tamara tells us the moment a payment goes through, so the order is created either way.
You can see when Tamara last contacted your store on the Tamara settings page — a quiet confirmation that the connection is alive.
Your wording, your languages
Rename Tamara at checkout, write your own description, and translate both into every language your store runs in. Customers see the version that matches their language.
Note on refunds
Refunds for Tamara orders are handled from the Tamara Partners Portal for now. Refunding from your Eaglecart admin is coming.
